Great Camping Games

While camping can be a lot of fun in and of itself, sometimes it's just better to have a game to pass the time. There are a ton of games that can be played while camping, and there are different games you can play with anyone you might bring with you. I'll tell you about a few such camping games to get you started.
Hide-and-Go-Seek
If you're going camping with kids, it's easy to find a game to play. One great game to play while camping with children is "hide and go seek". Everybody played this game when they were little, and it's even more fun to play when you're outdoors. If you are playing with children, be sure to set limits on how far away they can go during the game.
Tag
The next great camping game is fun for kids, but also fun for adults. Playing tag in the middle of the outdoors adds an extra level of challenge, as you can duck behind trees and otherwise evade your pursuer. There are ton of variations on the game of tag, so you can always switch to freeze tag or another kind of tag if you get bored with one kind.
Scavenger Hunt
There are also plenty of great camping games that can be played with large groups. One of the best camping games for this is the classic scavenger hunt. You could do this the normal way, by hiding objects for people to find, but you could also shake things up a bit by simply having people look for things that are naturally in the environment where you're camping.
Star-gazing
How often in your normal workweek do you get to just sit around and enjoy stargazing? This is a fun activity to do while camping especially with kids. Getting used to using a star wheel and knowing all the constellations found in a star guide is a great challenge and great fun at the same time. This is especially the case if you or your camping buddies are from the city where you never get to enjoy the stars.
Predator and Prey
An absolute fun game with kids is Predator and Prey. You designate one person to be the prey and everyone else takes turns trying to sneak up on him or her while their back is turned. If the prey hears someone coming he or she will quickly turn around. If they catch the predator moving, then another predator takes a turn, if the predator is frozen or well hidden, then the prey will turn back around and the predator can continue. Whoever gets the closest to the prey is the winner.
What If?
Finally, there's no reason that couples who enjoy camping shouldn't have their own games to play, too. Games for couples tend to involve more talking than running around. One great game for couples to play is simply called "what if?" The couple takes turns asking each other what they would do in any given hypothetical situation ("what if you won $1 million?") and giving each other the answers. It's a fun camping game to play, and it helps couples to get closer to each other. Couples would also enjoy a simple night walk!!!
These games are really only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to camping games, and it's easy to come up with new games of your own, too. And don’t forget about the most common camp activities like, listening to night sounds, singing around the campfire, and storytelling. Some campers are quite content with just hanging around and enjoying nature. No matter which game you choose to play, you can be sure your camping trip won't be boring.
